We don't claim to be the #1 Leak Detection Co. for Holbrook, N.Y. however we are 1 of them - We don't believe there are many Companies on Long Island that guarantee to locate Pool Leaks.

1st step is determining whether a pipe pressure test or if a diver is needed - It's a question of Is the Leak inside the pool or outside in the piping? Once we determine where to start looking for the Leak we can give you an estimate for our Leak Detection Services.

We request a brief history of your pool Leak to help direct us.

  • Did your water loss stop at a certain level in the pool?
  • Did you lose water when the pool was closed in the off season or last year?
  • Is it obvious that running the pump makes the Leak worse or does it actually decrease the water loss? - the pump ON/OFF Test

When should you consider replacing the Pipes

  • If you are considering getting a new patio/pavers soon
  • If there is flex PVC piping that already has previous termite damage
  • If the distance from the equip. to the pool is short & would require little re-piping
  • If a re-pipe can be accomplished by disturbing only a small amount of patio/pavers - (primarily route around the patio - under mostly under earth for example)

WILL A SIMPLE PRESURE TEST FOR THE PIPES DO THE JOB?

A pressure test of the Pool Piping/Plumbing is simply designed to tell you what line is Leaking. (PROBABLY 75% OF THE TIME WE CAN DO THAT ON THE PHONE - as long as you can tell us if you lose more with the pump running or off.) Of course if you are just planning to replace a line (not pinpoint the spot of the leak) then you can certainly go with the simple pressure test or you will need to have to find the Under the ground Leaks location so you can have it dug up & repaired

After the pressure test we take the Detection process a little further. Using some of the most advanced electronic technology, we listen for or target the loudest sounds of water flowing, which is typically where the pipe Leak exact location is. Once we find the pipe Leaks precise location, your pool co. can dig up & perform the needed repairs.

When should you consider replacing your Vinyl Liner

  • If The Liner is 10+ years old
  • If The Liner is 10+ years old
  • The Liner has lost its elasticity making it susceptible to damage (actually cracking) or difficult for anyone to repair
  • Money is not an issue and you just like the look of a new liner

Vinyl Liner Repair

Liner holes, tears & termite damage repaired underwater

Patching Pool Vinyl Liners

We dive Pools for Inspection/Leak Detection. We identify holes in liners and dye test suspect spots like gaskets at steps, skimmers & return fittings. We repair/seal/patch/fix those leaking areas. In most cases we can stop all leaks. In rare cases some liners are beyond repair. If you need a new liner, in most cases we can slow down your Leak(s) for the remainder of the season. This gives you more time to shop for a New Liner replacement.

Pressure Test

Then locate Hidden Pipe Leaks

Pressure Test - Locate Electronically

We first identify what pipe(s) are leaking by pressure testing the pipes. Once we determine which pipe(s) Leak then we go about precisely locating or pinpointing those underground Leaks. We usually can locate those concealed leaks under Patios or decks etc. with High Tech electronics like helium detectors or sonar/microphones. We mark the suspected Leak areas and then your pool company can do the Leak repair or we can recommend a Pool co.

Underwater Leaks

Vinyl Liner, Gunite or
Light Pool Leaks

Patching minor cracks or holes

Leaks can be repaired underwater. Whether it is holes in a vinyl liner or minor cracks in a gunite pool, those leaks can be repaired by a diver underwater. Light leaks or leaks at gaskets also can be sealed, or patched in most cases.

Skimmer Leaks

Very common around the skimmer opening

Typically sealed with epoxy

Skimmer Leaks are most common in gunite pools where the skimmer meets the sidewall of the pool, Vinyl liner pools (especially older liners indicating older gaskets) sometimes develop Leaks behind the faceplate where the gasket meets the liner & skimmer. In both liner pools & gunite pools leaks an happen inside the skimmer itself due to cracks. We can repair all with epoxy.

You don't Know?

Is the Leak in the inside of pool or the plumbing?

Leak Detection tests you can do

Diagnosing where the leak is not a very difficult process initially. First we attempt to determine if the leak is in the interior of the pool or the piping. We want to see if you loose more water with the pool pump on or off. Once this is done then we decide on whether an underwater dive or pressure test is needed.

Electronic Detection

For greater precision
with our Leak Detecting

We use it sometimes

We use electronic microphones and helium detectors to precisely locate under the ground pipe Leaks. Some companies use a scanner (typically the Anderson Leak Trac) to electronically find liner Leaks. We have been there done that. We feel we can do a much better job the old-fashioned way by scuba diving and repairing your liner. We can explain our rationale to you.
